Free Classic Children’s Songs

Homeschool Freebie of the Day has some classic children’s audio for us today:

Fun & Music Down on the Farm (mp3 audios) –First up is a jolly version of the classic children’s song, “Oats, Peas, Beans”; then a visit with “The Little Crooked Man” (of the Mother Goose rhyme) with his crooked cat and crooked mouse; a journey with “Uncle Don Down On The Farm”, and finally we’ll stop in for a delightful concert put on by a little mouse and a whole menagerie of barnyard animals.

These audios are hosted at HomeschoolRadioShows.com, so they should be available through next Monday.

Paul Revere's Ride

Today’s resources from Homeschool Freebie of the Day are about the famous ride of Paul Revere -which happened 235 years ago this Sunday, April 18th:

Listen My Children -A great half hour audio story about Revere’s life and influence, including the events of that fateful night, as originally dramatized on the radio program “Cavalcade of America”, in December, 1952. Also included is a PDF “Listening & Discussion Guide” that accompanies the audio program plus an audio reading of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s classic poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride” as performed  by the great actor, Frederic March.

Heavily illustrated with Williamson’s fine black and white line illustrations, this is a great chapter book for use with younger learners.

Birdwatching for Beginners: A Guide for Homeschoolers (PDF ebook) — An excellent starter guide on birdwatching… How to get started, what resources and equipment you need, where to find birds and how to identify them, how to keep records of your sightings, “etiquette” for watchers, how to attract birds to your own back yard, and much more!
