Blackberry Winter In East Tennessee
Monday, May 18th, 2009Here in East Tennessee we always have a little cold snap when the blackberries bloom and it’s called Blackberry Winter.
The blackberries are blooming -and it turned cold!
After temperatures being up in the 70s and sometimes 80s over the last couple of weeks, we woke up to 42 degrees this morning and it’s supposed to be colder tonight –in the 30s!
There’s even a possibility of frost in some locations:
This should be the last cold spell, but you never know; I’ve seen it snow flurry here in the holler -in June!
