Travel Alert: Winter Weather Watch For The Great Smoky Mountains

Are you coming to the Smoky Mountains this week? We have some hazardous weather in the forecast.

All of East Tennessee is currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 2:00am tomorrow morning and a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.

As temperatures fall tomorrow afternoon, the rain is expected to turn to snow and continue into Tuesday night. Some accumulations are expected, mainly in the higher elevations of the park.

Currently there are no weather related road closures in the Smoky Mountains but that could change at any time.
