Some Things We Do To Study Nature

  • Nature walks.
  • Identify, identify, identify everything. We invested in field guides for our area on trees, birds, insects, wildflowers, butterflies, reptiles and amphibians so we can correctly identify everything.
  • Take pictures.
  • Drawings.
  • Record the the dates of wildflowers as they come up and when they bloom.
  • Press flowers, ferns, leaves, moss.
  • Bark rubbings.
  • Use our nose; my children can identify by smell alone: sassafras, sage, peppermint, rose, pine and many others.
  • Keep an ongoing nature collection.

Ack… lost my first comment because I didn’t put in my email address correctly. Silly me.

Thanks for linking to my nature study page. It’s a great compliment when someone finds your work nice enough to link to it and say nice things about it. :-)

The abortion ticker is staggering. I assume that number is for the entire world? Very heart rending.

You’re quite welcome and thank you. :)
Your lens is a great resource and I had to pass it on, you put a lot of work into it!
Thanks so much for the Stumble, also.

Yes, the abortion counter stats are for the entire world and it’s an approximation at that…so sad. :(
