Old-Time Radio

Homeschool Radio Shows free Living Books for the Ears program for this week is an audio of the classic children’s book “Toby Tyler (or Ten Weeks with the Circus)” by James Otis. This classic old-time radio program was originally broadcast in 1944 and makes for some great listening. Available all week.

Lent Resources

Homeschool Radio Shows also has a free download of “Lent Activities for the Family” pdf e-book by Miiko Gibson. Have a meaningful Lent by doing a special activity each day of Lent, then fill in the fruit on the Lenten Tree Chart and countdown to Easter.

Alexandra at Happy Hearts at Home has a whole slew of Lent and Easter printables including; hymns, poems, lessons and classic stories. You can always find great classic resources there, thank you Alexandra. :)

Smoky Mountains Snow Update

It just barely got above freezing yesterday so the snow didn’t melt much, as you can see. It’s 16 degrees and breezy here in the holler and wind chills in the Great Smokies are -10  to 0 degrees this morning.

There are some roads that are closed in the Park this morning.

If you’re heading this way, you might want to call for updated conditions, (865) 436-1200. Once you hear a voice, dial extension 631 for road information or extension 630 for a weather forecast.

We only have a couple inches and the sun is coming out but there is more snow in the forecast today for the Smoky Mountains .

No word on road closures in the Park, yet.
